Mega Windforce takes WhisperRing from proven concept to product, reshaping how tomorrow's turbines are built

Mega Windforce is opening a €1.5 million investment round through the crowdsharing platform Eyevestor to take its WhisperRing wind turbine from a proven concept to a production-ready product.

The company's first commercial product is the WR20kW, a 20-kilowatt wind turbine with a 10-meter rotor built around a patented aerodynamic ring rather than a conventional hub. Mega Windforce has built and extensively tested a working proof of concept and has completed the drivetrain for the WR20kW. The focus now moves to the construction and validation of the commercial prototype, with preparations underway for certification, preproduction, scalable manufacturing and international market launch.

In Greece, a distributor with 1.5 GW of installed capacity has already signed a Letter of Intent for 3,000 WhisperRing turbines. In the United Kingdom, Mega Windforce is in talks with potential resellers. Alongside these sales channels, the company is working with international partners on its first production facility.

“The next step is more than building a prototype,” says Marcel Clerx, CEO of Mega Windforce. “We have reached a stage where it makes sense to invest in parallel in certification, production, distribution and international market development. By starting that work now, we aim to move more quickly from a validated product to actual production and delivery.”

Lower costs for locally generated wind energy

WhisperRing addresses segments of the wind market where energy from conventional turbines remains too expensive. The WR20kW is aimed at locations with a strong need for local energy generation. Among these are business parks, energy hubs, microgrids and energy communities such as agricultural cooperatives.

WhisperRing replaces the hub and nacelle of a conventional turbine with a patented ring that carries the blades. That ring delivers a higher yield from the same wind, and an automated production process for lightweight composite components keeps manufacturing costs low. For the WR20kW, the company is therefore targeting an energy cost 30 to 50 percent below that of comparable wind turbines.

Investors can help build the next phase

The new funding will finance the construction and validation of the commercial WR20kW prototype, the subsequent preproduction series, certification, further optimization and preparations for scalable manufacturing.

The €1.5 million round is open on Eyevestor at a pre-money valuation of €15 million. The current management team has invested €3 million, part of which is committed as co-investment in this round. Private investors can participate from €500 and will receive certificates representing an economic interest in Mega Windforce.

“We want investors not only to participate financially in the company, but also to follow its development closely,” says Clerx. “The coming period will show how technology, production and the market come together. Investors joining us now will be able to follow that development from the front row.”

Mega Windforce expects to start production and delivery of the WR20kW in 2028. The company's longer-term ambition is to further scale the WhisperRing technology to turbines with higher power ratings.
