Inside the WhisperRing:
the nacelle takes shape

The aerodynamic shape of the ring around the nacelle of our WR20kW prototype is now final. Its diameter fits a standard sea container and the ring guides extra air towards the blades.

In partnership with Baltico we have completed a first design for the ring’s structure: a carbon fibre truss with frames. All components inside the nacelle, from pitch motors and yaw system to batteries, brakes and drivetrain, have been dimensioned and sourced, and some of them have already arrived. We expect the structure to be fabricated in early December, with assembly to follow later that month.

Mega Windforce, Gimas and Baltico join forces on advanced carbon manufacturing

Mega Windforce, Gimas and Baltico have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore the development of an advanced manufacturing facility for carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP). The partnership combines Baltico’s carbon fibre technology, Gimas’ industrial manufacturing expertise and our patented wind turbine technology. Locations in Türkiye and Malta are under consideration for the future production facility.

Meet us at RE+ in Las Vegas

From 16 to 19 November, Mega Windforce joins the Netherlands Pavilion, organised by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), at RE+ in Las Vegas. Visit our desk at the Las Vegas Convention Center to see the WhisperRing table models. On Wednesday 18 November, our CCO Eric van der Gun speaks in a session on Dutch innovations that reduce the use of materials, showing how carbon fibre makes the WhisperRing lighter.

Meet us at OEEC in Amsterdam

On 24 and 25 November, Mega Windforce exhibits at the Offshore Energy Exhibition & Conference at RAI Amsterdam. At stand 2.302 you can see our cut-away proof of concept up close: the WhisperRing with a 2-metre rotor. Come and talk to us about the technology and our partnerships.

Investment round: the final 20%

Our investment round on Eyevestor funds the next phase of the WhisperRing: the WR20kW prototype, a pre-production series, certification and preparation for production. As of 28 October, 69 investors have invested a total of €1,198,212, 80% of the €1,499,400 target. €301,188 is still available. You can invest from €500 and become a co-owner of Mega Windforce.

Michel Bolhuis joins as Ambassador

Michel Bolhuis has invested €50,000 in Mega Windforce via Eyevestor and joins as an Ambassador. “I believe in the WhisperRing and in this team. With my experience in manufacturing and supply chain, I hope to help Mega Windforce take the step from prototype to production.”

For our Ambassadors, CEO Marcel Clerx is introducing a quarterly advisory board meeting, giving them an active role in advising the management team.
